Tip ups were used for ice fishing. They would have been rigged with a minnow and
placed over the hole in the ice. When a fish hits the bait, the red flag pops up to
let the fisherman know he has a bite. This example measures 23" long and is
complete. The red cloth flag is in good condition as is the rest of the tip up. Tip
ups make wonderful decorating items.
