NATIVE AMERICAN FISH DECOYS
DAN NIESON DECOY 2000 (CLICK HERE)
WONDERFUL, TRADITIONAL NATIVE
This great looking, folky, Native American fish decoy was made by Dan Niesen.
Dan is a native American man from Minnesota. He emerged about 10 years ago
and made a small group of these traditional decoys and has not been heard from
since. This example is made from a heavy piece of leather which is wrapped
around a weighted body and then sewn along the seam. The eyes are brass
tacks. This working decoy measures 6" long and is signed by the maker on the
underside of one of its copper fins. It is also numbered #13. The folk art appeal in
this wonderful and interesting decoy is really great.
