This early spearing decoy is the actual one featured on the cover and also on page
6 of the obscure reference book LAKE CHAMPLAIN ICE SPEARING DECOYS
AND CARVERS by Bradford White. It is featured as an example of an out of
the ordinary Lake Chautauqua decoy that has a tin tail rather than the more
commonly seen leather. The length is 5 1/2". This decoy is on beautiful, original
condition with just the right amount of age and wear to give it a wonderful look.
The squiggle paint accents in white also add to the visual appeal of this decoy and
the patina is really great.
