Here is something that you will probably never see again. This early minnow has a
wooden body under a thin covering of sheet lead. The decoy is really beautifully
made with a real folky flair. The length is just under 4". The maker has made
incisions for the gill plates and mouth and the eys are small glass beads which are
held in place by a small nail. The condition is wonderful and original with excellent
patina. The lead covering has taken on a very nice color and the original accent
painting in brown is still visible. The line would have been tied to a tiny screw
which protrudes from thetop of the fish. The visual appeal is top notch.
