Bud Stewart is one of the Best known Michigan carvers of all time. He produced a
wide variety of decoys over a career that spanned many decades and his decoys
are highly collectible. This 8 1/4" Bud Stewart decoy was made in the "Collector
Period" of the 1980s. It is painted in a combination of Bud's blending and screen
painting techniques. The gills, eyes and mouth are carved and the decoy has a
very folky yet realistic appearance. It also is one of Bud's decoys which exhibit the
Wounded Bait Fish design. The condition is beautiful, original ndnunfished. The
maker has signed the decoy on the bottom in red ink.
