MANNY ERICKSON LAKE TROUT (CLICK HERE)

Manford Erickson (deceased) was from Northern Minnesota. His decoys are
uniquely folky and very collectible. Erickson decoys are included in the reference
book FISH DECOY MAKERS PAST AND PRESENT (available in the reference
book section of this website). They were also the subject of a feature article in
Hunting and Fishing Collectibles Magazine several years ago. This great looking
lake trout measures 7 1/2" long and has a nice, fat body shape. It has carved gills
and a carved mouth. The condition is excellent and never used. The maker has
signed the decoy with his carved initials in the belly. Manny Erickson only made
about a hundred decoys in his career and most are in the hands of collectors.
