David Perkins is a a well known fish decoy carver from Northern Minnesota. His
decoys are included in reference books on noted decoy carvers and are in great
demand. This great looking, slopenose, Pickerel measures 12 1/2" long and has
glass eyes as well as deeply carved gills. It is hand carved and hand painted in
a wonderfully folky yet realistic pattern. The condition is excellent and unfished.
The decoy is signed DFD (Duluth Fish Decoy) by the maker on the belly. Mr
Perkins gives each of his decoys a special finish which simulates age and use.
They are highly collectible as folk art. Please check the reference book section of
