David Perkins fish decoys are well known and highly collectible. They are included
in reference books on noted fish decoy carvers as well as being included in the
collection of the American Folk Art Museum in new York. This wonderfully folky
underwater, swimming Bufflehead Duck-spearing decoy measures 9" long. It
has glass eyes as well as carved wing and leg details. The feet are detailed with
metal spinners to enhance the fish attracting properties of this great looking fish
spearing decoy. Mr. Perkins gives each of his decoys a special patina which
simulates age and wear. The decoy is hand carved and hand painted in a
typically folky Perkins pattern. The condition is excellent and unfished with light
wear. The decoy is signed DFD (Duluth Fish Decoy) in the belly weight.
