MINNESOTA FISH DECOYS~OLD
ACTUAL DECOY PICTURED IN
COLLECTORS REFERENCE BOOK!
Ernest Newman began making dish decoys in the 1940s and his decoys are
appreciated for their outstanding form and quality of workmanship. Most Newman
decoys that saw heavy use are in very tough ondition as they did not hold their
paint well. examples that saw light use such as this 7 1/4" sucker are highly
prized by collectors and very desireable. It is painted in bright yellow with dark
brown along the back and a pearl white head. The condition is completely original
with light wear and minor paint loss here and there. This is the actual decoy
pictured in the reference book FOLK ART FISH DECOYS on page 85.
