MINNESOTA FISH DECOYS~OLD
RARE, HIGHLY COLLECTIBLE TWO
PICTURED IN BOOK!
Charles Slechta is a top name in old time copper fish decoy makers. His decoys
are extremely collectible and especially difficult to find in excellent condition.
The craftsmanship is outstanding. Examples of the two headed copper pike are
even more rare and extremely difficult items to find. This decoy measures about 9
3/4" from each head to tail tip. It is accented with hammered dots on each of the
fins and the eyes are a small red metal disk that is set into a brass bezel. The
mouth and nostrils are pierced to allos water to be taken in for ballast and drained
after use. This is the actual decoy pictured in the reference book FOLK ART FISH
DECOYS on page 98. The decoy is completely original and outstanding in
every way with no dents or other signs of use. This is the "Holy Grail" of copper
