ROY WARMBOLD PIKE 1950 (CLICK HERE)

Roy Warmbold began carving fish decoys just about 1950. This has to be one of
his earliest fish. It measures 5 1/4" long and has the wonderful, little pectoral fins
under the front fins. This is a really great, folky touch that give this decoy added
visual appeal and collectibility. The exaggerated, oversive tail is also very cool.
The rarity of this decoy cannot be overemphasized, it is the only early example of
this carver's work we have seen to date. It is in wonderful, original condition with
normal paint loss tothe metal fins and good signs of age and use. the paint has
taken on a very pleasing, warm patina over the years.
